After the DHCBA executive committee passed a resolution condemning the letter written by Jagan Mohan Reddy to the Chief Justice of India, Delhi High Court Bar Association secretary had received threatening and abusive calls DHCBA secretary Abhijat said the bar association president, senior lawyer Mohit Mathur, had received calls threatening to inflict serious injuries on him and his family.
Abhijat claimed in his statement that some were members of the ‘Indian Association of the United Kingdom’ and used obscene language in Hindi to abuse and threaten Mr. Abhijat. According to his statements, he received multiple calls from a single mobile number.‘This call has disturbed me and my family a lot. The threat to my life and to the organ of those who called is clearly not to perform my duties honestly and without fear. This call is a serious violation of my personal rights and my right to freedom of speech and expression in accordance with the Constitution ‘.
Naginder Benipal, an executive member of the DHCBA, also condemned such calls and urged the police to take strict action against those who made the call.
