A Mumbai court has asked police to investigate allegations that Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel tried to create religious tension through their tweets.
Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Jayadevo Y Gule approved the orders on Friday.
The complainant alleged that the actor had been defaming Bollywood for the past two months through his tweets and television interviews, calling it “the center of nepotism” and “favoritism”.
IPC Sections 153A (promoting enmity), 295A (malicious acts of inciting religious sentiments), 124A (treason) against an actor, and her sister, his lawyer Ravish Zamindar said.
