Bihar Election Latest Updates:
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday released the BJP manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections. The BJP has promised to provide free Kovid-19 vaccines mainly in Bihar. It has promised to recruit 3 lakh teachers in universities and institutions of higher learning in a single year. And will add a total of 13 lakh jobs. It has promised to expand the supply chain of specialized crop products like fruits, vegetables, maize, makhana, pan, masala, honey, mentha, plants, and medicinal plants across the state. It will add 1000 new FPOs in Bihar.
Nirmala Sitharaman appealed to the people of the state to vote for Nitish Kumar’s son to win the NDA. She said Nitish Kumar will have a son as Bihar Chief Minister for the next 5 years. “Under his rule, Bihar will become a progressive and developed state of India,” she said.
The Congress on Wednesday released its manifesto for the Bihar Assembly elections. It has promised a monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 to unemployed youth. It has promised farmers to repeal three agricultural laws brought by the Center. Offering 10 lakh government jobs, waiving farm loans, and a 50 percent reduction in monthly electricity bills for unemployed youth.
The grand alliance (Mahagathbandhan) comprising Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties have declared candidates on all 243 assembly seats going to elections in Bihar.
The RJD will contest 144 seats, Congress 70, and Left parties have been allotted 29 seats. Out of the Left Front’s share, the maximum was allotted to CPI-ML, which has announced candidates on 19 seats. The CPI(M) and CPI will contest from 4 and 6 constituencies, respectively.
The elections for 243 Assembly seats will be held in three phases – for 71 seats on October 28, for 94 seats on November 3, and the remaining 78 on November 7. The results will be announced on November 10.
