Thadepalli: Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy was present at a function organized at the YSSRCP headquarters on Saturday on the occasion of the death anniversary of Mahatma Jyotirao Poole. He said that during this year and a half, BCs were transformed into backbone castes to the society. As part of that, he recalled that 56 BC corporations were set up and given priority to them. He told that BCs will also be kept at the forefront in the next three years. Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is bringing several reforms to build a Samasamaja inspired by Mahatma Jyotirao Poole, said party YSSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishnareddy.
State BC Cell convener Janga Krishnamurthy said that Jyotirao Poole was a Mahanite who fought for a niche for the downtrodden. And he said, CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy is another Jyotirao Poole for working for the betterment of BCs, which was a gift to BCs.
In an event in Aleru Alla Nani said, Mahatma Jyothi Rao Poole was born during a time of illiteracy, superstition, and child marriage in the society and became a beacon of light for the country through his own efforts. He said that man should be respected as a man and not according to caste and that Poole had fought all his life. Jyoti Rao Poole said that people should not be motivated unless superstitions are removed. Minister Allanani reminded that Poole was overwhelmed by the plight of widows, giving the highest priority to women’s education.
