Amaravathi: State Election Commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Rameshkumar canceled a video conference with top officials on Wednesday regarding the conduct of the panchayat elections. It is learned that he is planning to go ahead with the conduct of local body elections today. According to reliable sources, SEC Nimmagadda has once again written a letter to Chief Minister Neelam Sahni asking him to resume the canceled meeting on Thursday. He said he planned to hold it between 10 – 12 in the morning to discuss election arrangements. The letter directed CS to allow all district collectors, ZP CEOs, and district panchayat officials to participate in the video conference, but the colletors didn’t attend the meeting.
SEC complained to Governor Vishwa Bhushan that he had already consulted the government about the election meeting but the authorities were not responding. Nimmagadda Ramesh complained to the governor that Kodali Nani had made objectionable remarks on the elections.
